Mohegan Sun says Heather Hardy missed weight at Bellator 194 weigh-ins. Hardy, though, doesn’t believe she did.

Officially, Hardy weighed in at 126.25 pounds Thursday morning at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. The Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation will fine Hardy 20 percent of her full purse — show and win money, if she’s victorious — and give it to her opponent Ana Julaton, director Mike Mazzulli told MMA Fighting. The two fighters will meet on the main card of Bellator 194 on Saturday night.

That's really interesting. He is not saying that he ever said those things to her, just that he made that decision, which could be him covering for his own screw-up in some way. Or, he could be telling the truth, but he still didn't actually say those things to her or her coach.

Strange situation. Kind of high-handed, too. I mean, the commissioner can say, 'you're too dehydrated to be given an allowance to keep cutting weight', but are they entitled to say, 'you're not being given the option to strip to make weight like other fighters are.' I've never heard of that before.

How much was her disclosed pay? Can’t imagine it would be real high for a 1-1 fighter, or whatever her record was. The shouldn’t get to keep any of her money if they didn’t verbally tell her she could strip or take the extra time allowed. .25 of not mic isn’t a lot, but it could be the difference in her breaking even or losing money for this fight after she pays for her camp.
