Aldo is about to become the FIRST EVER fighter to become a two-time UFC champ without ever having to actually win a belt! Very impressive!

Before this, I thought the easiest way to win a UFC championship was to KO a guy in 13 seconds. I stand corrected. It's much easier to have the UFC just say "uhh, now you're the champ, I guess. Here's your, um, belt..." and not even have to throw a punch.

Path of least resistance. The art of fighting without fighting. Aldo is the modern day Bruce Lee.

Aldo is a legend that got beat fair and square...It's not his fault that the champion is busy just like the champion can't help but getting paid. ..IMHO this could simmer into another huge showdown if Aldo keeps winning them goes to 55 and beats Some killers at lw...

100% agree. He's really only had one bad fight...if he was smart he could win the rematch if it ever happens. I lost money on the first one.

Not saying Aldo isn't a legend, not saying he hasn't worked hard. All the respect in the world for Aldo as a competitor. I just find it funny that a guy would have the honour of being "awarded" a championship TWICE in his career, that's all. Isn't that a little funny?

Usually when Dana White gives a guy a belt in the octagon, it's after a fight where the guy had to beat another human killer. Aldo got to wear a suit and didn't have to throw a punch!



And now he gets a championship because a guy who KO'd him in 13 seconds can't be bothered to keep it.

On a side note, Chael had buff bagwell on his podcast and I wanted to Google who he was and typed in buff bagginz and was like "wtf, this guy isn't popular, can't even find him"

^ that mock corpse is Manny Gamburyan. He fought his way to a title zhot in the WEC by knocking out Leonard "Controversial Decision" Garcia. Had he won this match, it would have been him standing in the octagon with Dana for a nice photo. But he didn't, Aldo did.



^ and once again, this fight was for a title. Had Frankie won it, we'd be talking about him as champion now. But he didn't win that fight. Aldo did.

I'm familiar with the two opponents mentioned and it has come to my attention that Jose Aldo has, indeed, fought in and outside the UFC before.

All I'm saying is I find it funny he keeps getting titles without winning them (interim titles aren't titles, we all know that).

And hell, with all they're learning about CTE and the effects of concussions, if you can win a title without fight, I say more power to you!
