Interesting to say the least
Yeah, basically said the age of MMA Super Stars is over and
no more will be built the way Conor and Ronda were
Interesting to say the least
What do you think of Brendan Schaub saying the new PPV
model with ESPN just killed all the future stars and rendered even
Conor powerless to negotiate anything? (Time Stamped)

Agreed and honestly, there is a big difference between stars and what the UFC did with Ronda and Conor. Ronda was a scam. In the truest sense. Conor is a star in more the boxing sense than, say, the way NFL stars are built. He became too well paid to actually be a part of anything anymore. He is this well known guy who has a fight every once in a while. Not an MMA fighter anymore imo.I said the day it was announced that the old way of paying PPV draws needs to change
but the creating stars thing is silly.
Being on ESPN will help create stars/
its just the stars will not get a lot in PPV points lol

To kinda understand what I mean think of how popular Sakuraba was in Japan or Peyton Manning over here yet they still felt like they were a part of the sport. The nature of how Conor became so famous really separated him from the sport itself.
And the big misstep, imo, was to not match Conor up with, say, Khabib, right after Aldo. Then fight Nate. If they hadn't protected him this wouldn't have happened. He would have become a big star and still been a part of things. Not running off to dance around with Mayweather for 50, 100 million or whatever it was...Very fair points
I think the issue with Conor was how much more popular he was.
That gap made it tough for Conor to feel like one of the team.
That wouldn't be as bad with a guy like GSP, but with Conor it created a monster
Remember Nate was a last week fill-inAnd the big misstep, imo, was to not match Conor up with, say, Khabib, right after Aldo. Then fight Nate. RDA was not gonna kill him...Remember Nate was a last week fill-in
He was supposed to fight RDA, who most thought would kill him.
None of that was planned
