Conor vs Alvarez confirmed for UFC 205

Conor McGregor will get his chance at becoming the first fighter in UFC history to hold two titles in two weight classes at once, after all.

The UFC featherweight champion will challenge Eddie Alvarez for the UFC lightweight title in the main event of UFC 205 at New York City's Madison Square Garden on Nov. 12. UFC president Dana White announced the bout late Monday night on ESPN's SportsCenter.

Additionally, McGregor will not relinquish the featherweight championship leading up to UFC 205, making the meeting a champion vs. champion superfight.

I just dont see why there is such a rush for a rematch. Its been 9months if Aldo gets another big win over a contender like Holloway it will make the rematch much more intriguing. Just my opinion.

conor needs to defend his belt or vacate no matter if its against aldo holloway frankie or whoever .obviously the interim champ should be the first choice.after a ten year win streak aldo is entitled to a rematch,
