I'm curious to hear how everyone sees the fight playing out.

In a perfect world, Nate comes out, gets the clinch, takes the fight to the ground and gets the sub. Because he has a massive advantage on the ground, let's be real.

However, I think instead he will come out and try to box and Conor will control the distance and movement.

Nate will certainly land a few shots with all his volume but overall I see him being too slow and plodding for Conor.

But that ground game though! If he would just fucking use it.

Interesting. I agree that the grappling is really Nate's biggest advantage.

This is my original thought. It's the safe thought. Conor has more camp, he's the heavy favorite, bought more recently, etc.

But then I have to move on with the Diaz decision. Things will be close early on with the diaz superior volume bringing Conor into the deep waters of Round three four and five.

Round 1 is interesting to see how Conor deals with Nates reach. Holloway(5'10) gave Conor a somewhat decent fight and that was the old Holloway. Time and time again the Reach and size can play a huge factor. Also Conor doesn't have potent leg kicks or a heavy wrestling game which RDA had. Conor also doesn't have a solid/powerful head kick which Josh Thompson had vs Nate.

Still gonna take Conor via TKO rd3. I do expect a somewhat competitive round 1 and 2 fight, wouldn't shock me if it's 1-1 going to the 3rd.

I can live with either scenario. Would love to see Nate play spoiler.

Nate loses unless he gets it to the ground. What are the chances of Nate taking Conor down or Conor "accidentally" taking Nate down? That is the possibility Nate has to win. Whatever his chance of getting the fight to the ground.

They got Herb in there so you know he will get the backroom talk from Egg and Company. "Look Herb if you see Diaz go down or look hurt waive that shit off. Just don't make it look suspect"

Wow, I might have to throw some money on Nate at that line.
Those would be decent odds if Diaz had a full camp but he won't. All the cards are stacked against Diaz I just don't feel it. Diaz would have to almost kill McG to get a stoppage and if it goes to decision forget it. They will probably have taser probes attached to the judges if they mark it for Diaz they get a nice zap and the scorecard gets removed.

I'm not being a smart ass, but you realize you're suggesting this fight is a work, right?

I'm convinced the big referees are "aware" who they should call it for if possible. I'm not saying they get a bonus for calling it one way or the other but I bet they will be the first one to get the big assignment if they make those good calls. The stoppages are just so inconsistent and when it's a company man like McG (vs Mendes) or Ronda (vs McMann) you saw them get the quick stoppage.
