I think polarization in real life is pretty silly. Most of the perception of polarization is because of what happens online, but it's mostly because of the way platforms organize themselves. If conservatives or liberals are trying to Green Book their way to safety they're mostly giving in to something that's generally imaginary.

My life would be awfully boring if I didn't get to hear from the more conservative voices on here.

Out of curiosity do you find the more conservative voices on here to be overly abrasive/verbally abusive?

Not really. Generally speaking, everyone on here seems to like to have fun and the culture of this place has always included a good mix of smack talk and thoughtfulness. It's not like the other place got. Most people on here aren't mean spirited though they are sometimes thoughtless or careless, aka human. It's actually because of my time online that I get into big debates with some of my left leaning friends that they woefully misunderstand the motivations and sentiments of conservatives. Inaccuracy or imprecision bothers me more than ideology. Everyone has a right to what they believe and even to being passionate about it, but facts and the context that surrounds them matter regardless of whether you're a progressive or a conservative.

That statement is obviously a lie since the map clearly shows that there are blue spots in Florida.
