The precipitation that piles up during the winter makes a big difference when it comes to flooding. Admittedly that's more of a concern on rivers that lakes.

we are elevated up, so we would need biblical levels of flooding to effect our house.
gotta have swim diapers. regular diapers are lead pants in the pool.
but even that's not perfect. We've had a couple times at swim 'lessons' where somebodies toddler squirted turd.
then they have to shut the pool down for a set time before they can test the water again.
used to work at a private pool at a country club...the bathrooms/showers. Holy Shit, I don't even want to think about a public pool
