a tiny bit, we get storms from hurricanes in the gulf sometimes. Our area historically doesn't get many tornadoes either.
The precipitation that piles up during the winter makes a big difference when it comes to flooding. Admittedly that's more of a concern on rivers that lakes.

The issue with lakes around here anyways, is they're all far from the city.

we are elevated up, so we would need biblical levels of flooding to effect our house.

Yea, but it keeps turds from floating around the pool, which is nice. Doesn't stop the pee though.
gotta have swim diapers. regular diapers are lead pants in the pool.

but even that's not perfect. We've had a couple times at swim 'lessons' where somebodies toddler squirted turd.
then they have to shut the pool down for a set time before they can test the water again.

Which is exactly why we don't swim in nasty ass public pools
