I don't know how this thread got so bent up.

Its right that children should learn their history.

No matter who teaches them. So long as it's the facts.

Here's a better example. Let's say a gay kid is bullied and wants to speak to the teacher. The teacher is unable to have an honest conversation about how the kid is not weird or bad for being gay

Supporters of the bill would say that a teacher should not be allowed to have that conversation. They say the parents should be notified

But some kids parents are homophobes. Those kids don't want their parents to know. But this bill initimates schools from offering the proper mental health counseling out due to the threat of lawsuits

So basically, the law will negatively effect LGBTQ students in various ways. It may even lead to otherwise avoidable suicides by LGBTQ kids

I actually knew one when I was a kid

Not sure if he ended up gay because I didn't see him from second grade on, but he spoke super flamboyantly and had the gay body language...was an adopted child, to two lesbians

So I don't actually know if he was gay at all

No kid should have a sexuality at 6 years old nor should they be having secret talks with grown ass adults not their parents about their sexual feelings at 6 years old.

I have a six year old. Me kissing my wife is gross to her. Sexuality should not be curriculum for her.
