Never had the luck to come across him or meet him in my 16 years in the Seattle area. Had heard lots about him over the years but learned some new stuff in the article, it was great. Also found this quote interesting in light of all of the press about police shootings lately "If you are intending to fight crime with a gun, it's because you are too lazy or don't care to prepare." It just sort of built on something that I have been thinking about in following a lot of the protests this past year and also heard Joe Rogan talking about on his podcast with Callen/Schaub, how it seems like many police officers are not sufficiently trained to apprehend, fight, defend themselves, etc, etc and likely why in some cases, reaching for their gun is what happens when they are put in some crazy situations.
