Looks like him and Jake shields has them a grappling match. From Facebook
How long is that gonna put him out?
And it makes me ask the question, how come fighters are not allowed to compete in other MMA orgs or WWE yet the UFC lets them risk themselves in grappling matches?
You think when Connor was champ champ they would have let him grapple Paul Harris? Could they stop him?
I don't get it eever
It was at Quintet Ultra.
... which is on fight pass, affiliated with UFC etc
Aaaaand he retires
No heel hooks were allowed, but Jake had a pretty good reap on Cub's leg. Cub looked like he was trying to escape it and it popped. Truly sucks.... You should have heard the IBJJF elite rant about that LOL.
what was said
Epic reapage! Do you think Shields was leaning into it or Cub make an error with his escape movement?
Little bit of both
All the non leg lockers who think that it's gi only, IBJJF rules are screaming that's why they should ban all leg locks, and now Cub's career is ruined, and how dangerous it is.... All bullshit. I swear, even though I love competing in IBJJF because of it's age categories, I have never seen so many bitches when it comes to leg locks.

my opinion has always been that it's your responsibility to protect your joints.
give in to the pressure, and go in the direction that protects you. Same thing for guys popping their knee passing a Lockdown. Your body isn't built to fight that pressure with that joint.
Jake Shields has ALWAYS been a dirty fighter regardless. But yes, Cub should have spun the other way.
