I'm in the middle of watching Creed right now and I'm about 3/4 through it. Really love it so far, it's surpassed my expectations for sure at this point. I enjoyed Rocky Balboa (the 2006 one) but it was a bit cheesy in its own way. I pretty much expected it to be like that, but I'm a huge fan of the series so I still dug it a lot. However, this film has a much more serious (and believable) vibe. Seeing 60 year old Stallone in the ring was cool, but obviously required a bit of suspension of disbelief. I feel like thus far, the plot and vibe of this movie has been gritty, raw, and pretty dramatic - whereas Balboa was almost a gift to fans of the series, this movie feels like an actual piece of art, like the first one.

I wasn't sure what to think going into this but all I heard was overwhelmingly positive reviews from both my friends and online sources. I can see why!

I'm taking an intermission halfway through the film to check up on the MMA news of the world and figured I'd post about it here. So, has anyone else seen the movie yet? If so, what did you think of it overall - as a standalone film and as a part of the series?

Also, I'd like to give a heads up to anyone who has NOT seen it yet that this thread will probably contain spoilers, since more than likely, we will discuss the plot and how the film played out. So I'd recommend not reading any posts below this one to avoid ruining the film!

Well.. looking forward to hearing what you all have to say. I'll report back when I'm done watching the whole thing!

Also, for discussion's sake -

What is your favorite Rocky movie, and what is your least favorite? Or, if you'd like, list your favorites in the series from best to worst

Peace everyone, and happy new year!

People give me funny looks when I tell them I've never seen a Rocky movie. Same look I get when I tell them I went nearly 25 years before seeing a Star Wars film. I should probably give them a shot one of these days.

word of mouth got me to theater to watch it today,I was just going to redbox it later, glad I saw it in theaters, excellent story cameos from pro fighters, performances, even small roles like wood harris as a trainer was cool, lots of great references to the past films,I was also a bit emotional to see stallone get sad when hes showed a photo of his son who died in real life.

As you are making this thread, there are people behind you who hate you for using your phone during the movie. It may not be loud, but holy piss, is that little glow distracting. :)
