UFC president Dana White quickly shot down the idea of giving out post-fight bonuses worth $200,000 each following UFC 200, to celebrate the landmark event.

UFC officials gave out post-fight bonuses worth $100,000 each after UFC 100 and bonuses worth $129,000 each after UFC 129, so why not up the ante even more and reward bonus-worthy fighters with $200,000 bonuses after UFC 200 on Saturday evening?

That was a question asked at the UFC 200 pre-fight press conference this past Wednesday. UFC president Dana White wasn't open to the idea, however.

"No, these people are making a lot of money now," White said. "No. No. I'm knocking them down to $25,000 for this fight (laughs)," White said, when asked if the UFC will give out four $200,000 post-fight bonuses to celebrate the landmark…

I wonder what a guy like Enrique Marin thinks about the statement, "No, these people are making a lot of money now," ? I'm sure he finds Solace in the fact that Reebok is going to generously give him a whole $2500 for the honor of wearing their awesome gear in to the cage and he has the honor of fighting Sage. Those two honors, I'm sure will help pay the rent for his next camp.

I'm sure there are several fighters on the card that are going to be making 7 figures and that is awesome!

But there are going to be more that won't sniff 6 figures, so you can't lump them all together in one statement like that. There are going to be several fighters that when it's all said and done...after taxes, training fees, and mgmt/lawyer fees probably won't clear 10k. A guy like Marin, this is his first fight of 2016. If a fighter at Marin's level can earn a bonus, that can be life changing in his career. The difference between a 40k and 100k bonus is massive for him...for Brock or Silva it's of little difference in their pay most likely.
