Islam Makhachev retained his lightweight title with a dominant performance over Renato Moicano in the UFC 311 main event, but his victory earned him even more when it comes to Dana White’s admiration.

“He’s already the pound-for-pound No. 1 ranking. Yeah, I’ll give it to him,” White said at the UFC 311 post-fight press conference. “Is everybody happy now that he’s pound-for-pound?

“Islam was willing to fight anybody. He’s stayed active and he went out tonight and performed the way a guy should on a short-notice fight when you are the best in the world and you are the champion.”

I disagree with the P4P ranking. Beating a much smaller featherweight and the number 10 ranked lightweight for 3 of your title defenses isn't really all that impressive. Porier was also on a 1 fight win streak when he got the title shot.

This past PPV after watching Islam at the weight in and fight night I was amazing at how big he is.

P4P weight cutter imo.
