UFC president Dana White is not on board with Henry Cejudo’s pursuit of a third UFC belt.

Cejudo (16-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC), the former UFC bantamweight and flyweight champion, announced his retirement in May, after stopping Dominick Cruz in the second round at UFC 249.

Since, Cejudo has expressed interest in a possible comeback, but only if he gets to challenge UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski....

Henry retires and they immediately remove him from all rankings but Conor retires and he is still ranked including the p4p rankings.

Yep, but even if you weren't a piece of shit promoter, you still wouldn't let Cejudo anywhere near that 3rd title. That he wouldn't defend it is even more telegraphed than GSP's Bisping cash in. There's nothing to be gained and a lot to lose for everybody except Henry.

And if you are a piece of shit promoter, you'd make an example of Henry by never letting him fight for the UFC again. If everyone is trying the whole 'fake retirement' thing, the best way to nip it in the bud is to force someone into real retirement when they do it to make an example out of them. And that's what Dana is going to do.

Conor isn't retired until he is removed from the testing pool. Dana threatened to remove him from the testing pool on a previous "retirement" and immediately Conor was no longer retired. There is some shit where if a fighter is removed from the testing pool they have to re-apply, then go through multiple tests over the course of like 4-6 months (forgot the time frame) before they are placed back on the roster as active and can fight again. Of course, the UFC can do whatever they want like they did with Brock if it comes right down to it, but the threat was enough to call Conor's bluff.

Can't disagree with Dana here.....don't drop the gloves and then start talking about match ups a month or two later. Comparing Henry's situation to Conor's is ridiculous.....as far as changing the landscape of the game, Henry wouldn't even be a footnote. Not saying it's right...just is.

What landscape has Conor changed that's distinct from Henry?
