Dancing plague of 1518 where between 50-400 people took to dancing from July to September

The most prominent theory is that it was from the mould on their food.

Food was scarce - meaning they have eaten everything available. Even bad spoiled bread with mold. Which had LSA on it from ergot mushroom, precursor to LSD.

The banded rocks of Hosta Beach are a breathtaking spectacle of nature, weaving dark and light stripes across their rugged surface. These striking patterns are the handiwork of ancient volcanic fires and the earth-moving might of tectonic forces.

"Mensur" is a form of traditional German sword-duelling for the sole purpose of getting a "Schmiss" (facial scar).

Strict rules to avoid serious injuries: The Mensur is a highly codified and supervised duel, designed to minimize the risk of serious injuries. Strikes are only delivered to the head and face, and participants wear protections for the eyes and neck. The swords used, called 'Schläger,' are designed to inflict superficial cuts, and serious injuries are rare.

Cliffs of Moher, Ireland

Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince was shot here. Down the cliff there's a cave like opening that you'll see in the movie, and it's the location where one of Voldemort's horcruxes is hidden.

Also, they say the coast line is changing because the cliffs keep eroding. That's how strong the water currents hitting the cliffs are.

As of January 2025, there are two confirmed Yangtze giant softshell turtles left in the world. One is a male at the Suzhou Zoo in China, and the other is a female in the Dong Mo Lake in Vietnam. However, there may be one or more additional individuals in the Xuan Khanh Lake in Vietnam.

Nikola Tesla never married, but claimed to have fallen in love with a white pigeon. After its death, he told friends that he felt his life's work was over. "I loved that pigeon as a man loves a woman, and she loved me. As long as I had her, there was a purpose to my life."

The world's oldest purse, found in a grave near Leipzig, Germany, that has been dated to between 2,500 and 2,200 B.C. It was studded with over a hundred dog teeth, and other items in the grave suggest dog and canine teeth were a fashion statement.

Insane that you can do this and not leave DNA evidence behind.

After the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, it only 3 days for the trams to resume limited operations. 3 of the trams that survived the bomb are still in service to this day.

Within a day you likely could have been outside on ground zero for an extended period without getting ill or any significant increased long term cancer or other health risks. The radiation disipates super fast.
