In Batman Returns (awesome film, btw. Burton nailed it), has there EVER been someone who has pulled off a character so well in any comic-book adaptations since?

Damn DDV was creepy as hell in that film! Nailed it.

I'm thinking the dude who played "Thor" was the perfect choice. Your turn...

I was going to say Hemsworth for Thor.

I can't wait to see Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron Fist.

No one has been able to match Christopher Reeves as Superman. I thought Brandon Routh did a decent job. Unfortunately rest of the movie suffered but Reeves nailed Clark Kent/Superman.

I've also really enjoyed Jon Bernthal as the Punisher in the Netflix Daredevil series and Donofrio as the Kingpin.

Gotta say Jessica Jones is was excellently portrayed as well. I really do think marvels Netflix series are far superior to their films.

Agreed, but Superman sucks balls as a comic book adaptation. It will NEVER be on Batmans level.

I grew up on old Penguin versions, so I thought DDV was vile as Penguin and walked out of the theatre, it was almost nothing like any version I'd ever seen.

Although RDJ became Iron Man, he did not remotely land that character. The animated versions in The Ultimate Avengers series and the Invincible Iron Man nailed it.
Also, I thought neither movie nailed The Thing, but both together would've nailed it.
I'll say this, Norrin Radd/Silver Surfer was PERFECT.
And agree, Deadpool was perfect.
I didn't like Hugh Jackman as Wolverine or Hemsworth as Thor, they both grew on me and became what I now like.
Although I liked Michael Keaton's portrayal of Batman, as dreadfully painful as it is to say it, it's actually Ben Affleck who came closest to finally BEING The Dark Knight.
I liked Thomas Jane as The Punisher, but haven't followed that series close enough to know the character.
I thought Brandon Routh did a good job, as did Christopher Reeve. Actually I like all 3 Superman portrayals.
I thought Jennifer Gardner made a good Elektra, and that other shortcomings of the film did not fall on her character portrayal.
Both highlighted Jokers(Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger), were exemplary in their own way, though that character is difficult to perfectly attribute as SEVERAL writers, animated series and collections have been made over generations.
I think I'm gonna like Momoa's Aquaman.
OH, I also HATED the idea of Chris Evans playing The Human Torch, then Captain America also, and highlighted how pathetically and utterly narrow-minded Hollywood is when scripting popular culture.
But he is doing a fantastic(heh) job as Captain America.
Thomas Haden-Church, imo, played a very underrated role as Sandman in Spiderman 2.
Finally, Rebecca Romijn Stamos was perfect as Mystique, and every Hulk has missed the mark, but I liked Eric Bana(because I just like Eric Bana) and I like Ruffalo because I like Ruffalo. Norton was a terrible choice for that character.

And every Spider Man portrayal has sucked.

How did we forget Patrick Stewart as Professor X?

I really enjoyed that incarnation of the Punisher. The new Netflix version is grittier than Jane's was though.
