Saw another article that Miller wanted more of a stylized film and Reynolds wanted a raunchy comedy like the first. That and i guess Reynolds didn't like millers choice for cable
I'm not sure it was the director that made that movie what it was.

From what I've read Miller wanted to make it more stylized and Reynolds wanted more off comedy like the first. While i liked millers look and even the music of the first what made that movie and that character ha definitely the off humor.
Renoylds was featured in GQ and talked about Deadpool. Here's a snippet about Miller's departure.

I’m not gonna go and sit with Tim Miller and say, ‘The visual effects of Deadpool need to be done this way.’ The man is a visual-effects wizard. But there are character and tone things that I know really well. And I’ve also been with this thing the longest out of anybody, aside from the guys that wrote the comics. Eleven years I’ve been trying to get this Sisyphus rock up the hill, and it kept rolling back on top of me. So I’m gonna be all the [frick] over it from the moment it starts to the moment it finishes."

Definitely seems like Reynolds is on the right side of this shakedown. Hopefully the flash can find the right director soon.
Everything I've read about the fall out of directors of both films have been directors wanting to put their own spin and style on these characters. Which is a sure way to alienate fans.

What little faith I had in the DC/WB movies is fading with every article I read about the trouble they're having. It's a shame because I absolutely love the DC characters.
At least I still have my comics I guess. I'd just like to see them get the same treatment that Marvel has been getting for theirs.
Marvels movies anyway are beginning to get stale for me. While most are entertaining they lack substance and they've to have a truly compelling villian. Loki is their best attempt. The rest have been meh.
Their Netflix series however are the exact opposite fully entertaining and full of substance with super compelling villians, except diamondback. He was a bit too campy.
As far as dc does they are still killing it with the comics so I'm hoping that bringing over Geoff John's makes the difference. I'm hopeful for wonder woman and afflecks Batman film.

The movies have been where it's at for me. The villains haven't been great but the heroes have more than made up for that.
The shows have been really good but every series has been 3 - 4 epsidoes too long imo.
I love Johns' comic work but I don't know if he can save where DC is headed with their movies. He's been associated with the DC TV shows and I haven't been able to get into them. Not sure what your opinion is on them.
I enjoy them to a certain extent. They are hampered by being on the cw. It's awesome they put on so much dc but they also have to have the teen drama appeal for a younger generation. They are entertaining and they are far superior to what marvels got on network television but it's a tough comparison to what they have the freedom to do on Netflix.
