So, I see this post on Gawker essentially shitting on FOX news for having a martial arts instructor come on and teach a few moves related to disarming, attacking an active shooter.
"If you really want to keep your children as safe as possible, don’t ever let them watch Fox & Friends." they finish.
The comments section, not surprisingly, echo the sentiment in the article; that's its beyond stupid to teach kids to engage.
I, honestly, think it's a great idea teaching children and adults how to deal with active shooters. Maybe that's because I'm in Texas and we're fucking crazy, but I really don't understand how it hurts to give people the knowledge to defend themselves or others in such a situation.
The majority view over there seems to be run and hide (which is the FBI's recommendation), and while that's a perfectly fine decision for some, you shouldn't be shitting on someone's inclination to protect a group by trying to stop the shooter
What are your guys' thoughts on it?
