A welterweight up and comer will meet a veteran in Rio de Janeiro as Neil Magny has been scheduled to take on Demian Maia at UFC 190 on August 1, as reported by Tatame.
Magny (15-3), a TUF 16 alumnus, has been on a tear after putting together five wins in 2014 and already two more this year. Now, the 27 year-old will face his first top 10 opponent in his career in his third trip to Rio de Janeiro, where he was submitted bySergio Moraes in 2013 before knocking out William Macario last year.
Magny's adversary, Maia (20-6), will look to string together his third win in a row after a couple of unanimous decision wins over Ryan LaFlare and Alexander Yakovlev. This will also mark the third time Demian has fought in Rio, so far the Brazilian remains undefeated with a first round submission over Rick Story in 2012 and a victory over the aforementioned LaFlare.
