General Diabetic Cats?

Just learned today I probably have one. Dude was all fucked up so took him to emergency clinic.
Ain't that some shit.

Gonna learn more tomorrow after we get another round of bloodwork done...gathering data and numbers at this point.

I guess we are gonna have to give him two injections a day for awhile and change his diet for awhile to see if he can go into remission and be normal again.

Bernie is his name...Good lil dude...looked like weekend at bernies in the face when he was tiny, hence the name.

We probably caused it by feeding some Kibbles(higher sugar I guess).

Anybody have experience with this?

guess what...Dude got more work done today and is doing well, probably not a diabetic.

He is all drugged up again, but his vitals, bloodwork, X-ray, and more were all good.

His blood sugar went from 338(fucked) to 116(normal) overnight

Last night he fucked with me all night and stared out the window like a zombie(methadone withdrawal IMO)...Lil Fucker is cold as ice, took them needles and probings like a boss.

kibbles for most of life.

Shit is like some bizarre mystery...for all I know he fell and hit his head on concrete...basically no idea what caused his episode.

Got the extreme physical check up and probing today and last night and is totally fine from what they can see and examine, blood, x ray, and ultrasound...probably ate some bad LSD or something

Cat hasn't said a word at home in 24 hours now, perfect behavior right now. Usually a total wild man.

Apparently he has a full bill of health from all his new doctor friends.
Blood sugar is healthy and x rays, ultrasound, bloodwork, urine culture all check out.

Other than emergency appendix for me, he has had far more medical attention and cost than I have the last 20 years.

Xray reveals his kinked tail may or may not cause him nerve pain/numbness in rear legs...hard to tell cause they hide pain so well.

Vet says we could try anti anxiety trial of meds...or some pain meds for a couple months to see if it helps him...pretty much a mystery.

Happy and Normal for now, thanks for all the best wishes for him.

Great news that he recovered. My coworker has a diabetic dog and it sounds like a lot of work but trying to give pills to a cat is another world. Hope he stays ok.
