It is not outside the realm of possibility that years of war and conflict may humble and dampen the spirit to further fight when given the opportunity to simply meet somebody new. As such meeting somebody that has experienced years inside a conflict might result in an outsized portion of people being very kind to set outsider.

Rather than assuming one gets nebulous baggage, is it so hard to imagine that crushing despair of a war zone breeds New perspective and a strong desire for just simple peace?
