Counting from when he came back, he fought Horcher, MJ, Barboza, and then beat Al Iaquinta, the 11th ranked guy, for the title.
With all respect to MJ, who I enjoy watching, he has always been in more of a gate keeper role. Barboza is a talented striker but we've seen him get beaten by guys like Ferguson, Cowboy and even MJ. And Al Iaquinta has power for sure but is hardly what people would consider championship level, at least at this juncture.
Now I understand this path was not Khabib's fault and simply caused by measures beyond his control, but still... doesn't it sound pretty funny that a guy captured a world title beating Michael Johnson, Edson Barboza and Al Iaquinta?
And people questioned the legitimacy of Conor's championship... Hell last time I checked he KTFO actual champs for his belts...
