Will become a thing?

As it becomes more prominent and more gyms spout up do you reckon there will be McMMA dojos that will introduce some sort of grading system?

I don't.

It's not the same as traditional martial arts, the coaches don't pretend to be sensei's etc.

As far as I know, IMMAF has already decided to introduce belts in mma. They've been shitting all over the sport with their rules such as 15 year olds not being allowed punches to the head

I've been wondering for a long time if we'd ever get to the point where people trained MMA as an integrated system with the relationships between striking and grappling fully understood and standardized. It doesn't seem likely right now though places like Tristar, AKA and Jackson's have tried this approach to training with mixed success. For now, having belts in MMA can only lead to people being mediocre at everything to get to like purple belt. Maybe if you had to win a one night 8 person tournament to get your black belt.
