Back in the day GSP started wearing suits to press events. He stated that as a professional athlete he had to act like one. Other sports require their athletes to wear a suit and tie to events. Lately we are seeing more and more MMA fighters dress up in suits and dresses for their press events. What do you think? Should we see more of this or do you like the old Tap Out/Affliction days where they wore jeans and a t-shirt?

Until the President of the company stops wearing Rage Against The Machine t-shirts, jeans, and Puma's to press conferences, I think the fighters are okay to wear whatever they want as well.

This, plus I detest shirt and ties and actively avoid wearing them... Shorts and t-shirts to work ftw

Minimum requirement of suit but no tie required. Casual but professional but iwei has a valid point

Suit. You look good, you feel good, you perform good. I've never understood the justification "its the fight game" when it comes to how these guys are treated or dressed. I don't care that they wear jeans and a T really but when I make my debut I'll be sporting a tree peice.

Fighters can't afford suits. If I were a fighter I'd dress like a crackhead to hammer the point home

I think it should be suits and that includes the promoter too. MMA is still a fringe sport and for the rest of the population to take it seriously they should dress like its a business and not a bunch of guys that came back from a walk in the park and will now fight. I think presentation is important to get people to take it more seriously like a sport and not some meat heads punching each other in the head because they are full of rage.

That includes the promoters too. You cant have them wearing stuff they slept in to the press conferences. Like they woke up in their van in the arena parking lot and then attend the meetings.

if zuffa buys their suits, then they can wear them. i'd never expect a low paid fighter to pay for a suit when they have more important shit to worry about. now that they're losing sponsors, some will make a lot less.

I don't really care, i think a person should wear whatever he feels is good at the moment, unless it something shocking to the world.
