i would agree with that. Some referees make some weird calls. I always wondered how that worked in Pride. Did fighters ever dispute the referee at the end of the fight as to why they were carded? Maybe they felt they were working towards something and was called unfairly.RickStorm;n13416 said:I think when this was discussed years ago at a NSAC hearing it was said that no ref should be able to deduct a fighters pay. If IRC that was the main reason it got turned down.
Yeah I always wondered that too, but since they had their own rules and no commission per say, I suppose it didnt matter if someone complained or not. I remember Rampage bringing in a "red" card and giving it to the ref before the fight.. That cracked me uplookoutawhale;n13421 said:i would agree with that. Some referees make some weird calls. haha yeah. And there was the one time Rampage gave the referee a yellow card before the fight pretending that he smelled. it was pretty classic.RickStorm;n13422 said:Yeah I always wondered that too, but since they had their own rules and no commission per say, I suppose it didnt matter if someone complained or not. This. As a fan I want more action, but as a fighter I don't trust a referee with my money lol. Plus there's times when you're in a war and you just need to rest, 15 minutes is a long time to go non-stop.Dougie;n13426 said:Rampages "red card" was for the ref's breath which he said was awful.
Instead of docking pay, maybe use the yellow card to warn for the point deduction and the red to take the point away.
