Does TMMAC have data redundancy?

Inevitably, I think this place is going to get attacks on free speech, maybe shut down.
In that case, only few of us have the ability to contact each other.
Can we save threads and their data?
We have a massive database on quite a few really good threads.

I wonder if we can't also get set up for when the site goes down where we can meet and discuss things.

I almost had a heart attack when the site went down.
So I joined a matbattle dot com.

I keep incremental backups locally. The man can't keep us down. I'll put us on the dark web if I have to.

I haven't looked into dark web hosting. That's a joke really. We don't want anything to do with that cesspool. And most users would give up trying to access it.

I did research blockchain hosting before the upgrade and it didn't seem feasible for a forum with constant database writes. The backup plan now is jump hosts if we have to. Kiwifarms survived their cancellation. I'm sure we'll be fine. All the questionable stuff posted here comes from Twitter anyway. We'll just blame them.

Dang - I didn't know someone did that here, too.

I remember someone doing that on the old OG *many* years ago. They'd keep a spreadsheet with people's SNs, then copy & save random things they would say and the date, but not the thread, conversation, etc.

They did that shit for a while, then used it as a way to attack a bunch of forum members with shit like, "Oh, don't you remember on XYZ date when you said 'ABC'?" with absolutely no context, background, etc. He was trying to gotcha people and (IIRC) a few thought he wanted to eventually try to blackmail people on it. This was before "cancelling" people on social media, etc was so widespread & normalized.

He was found out pretty quick & routinely called out on it. I may be misremembering (it's been quite a while), but me and a couple others did the same to him, copy & saving a couple totally harsh comments he made, just to later throw it in his face with no context when he started acting like an ass on other threads.

I think he stopped pretty soon after the tables were turned on him and I wanna say he disappeared from the forum soon after...though he probably just started posting under a different SN.

Again - I may have the details wrong as I am a bit fuzzy on it and had actually forgotten all about it until I saw these posts.

But I do definitely remember it happening.

I remember the OG fiasco, but wasn't active for either.
Later I think @heystro freaked out because I remembered his favorite band was Alice in Chains because of an AIC thread, then started freaking out that I have an excellent memory.

I might be misremembering, could've been somebody else & Phil Collins, maybe on Sherdog...
