Donald Cerrone accuses upcoming opponent, champ Rafael dos Anjos, of drug use

UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos looks to make his first successful title defense later this year when he meets Donald Cerrone. And the pre-fight trash-talk is already in full swing.

Cerrone (28-6 MMA, 15-3 UFC), who secured his title shot after breaking the jaw of UFC 187 replacement opponent John Makdessi (13-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) in May at UFC 187, is riding an eight-fight winning streak and awaits a date to fight dos Anjos (24-7 MMA, 13-5 UFC).

The champ is on the mend after tearing his MCL prior to a title win over Anthony Pettis in March. When a fan asked Cerrone when his title fight with dos Anjos would take place, “Cowboy” responded with a not-so-veiled steroid accusation (via Twitter), which prompted the champ to issue the promise of a beatdown.

Hard to hate cowboy but that is one of the most disrespectful things to say about another fighter, not sure how I feel about RDA , his performance against Pettis was sensational, how do others feel about RDA? fantastic fighter so I don't want to throw accusations around but would like to hear input from my fellow brothers on here

Diaz has been doing it about GSP and wrestlers in general for years. I don't like it as a title fight hyping method, with or without any knowledge (Unprovable until a failure I might add) for the same reason I hate half-measure testing. You are pissing in your own product legitimacy and providing excuses pre-packaged.

I'm sure they do, but just throwing out names with no proof does nothing but fuck with the perceptions of your fight while you may hope your opponent fails to prove your point, which is ironically also going to kybosh your fight.

Either trust in the testing and demand more or don't but just calling out the guy you will fight makes people roll their eyes and go "Here we go, if he loses it's the roids and now I also have to suspect the other guy great"

This is just an odd strategy to go with for me, although I got why Diaz did it, he just doesn't give a crap about anything. The pressure should always be on Zuffa and the commissions, throwing out these twitter nuggets on PED's serves basically nothing but strengthen sides and make people who just want to see a good fight pick a side based on nothing more than innuendo and physical appearance.

He may very well be on PED's if he is and is tested harder this time, the fight may completely suck, that benefits only Cerrone and hardline fans. Not the division, Zuffa or MMA simply cause they wouldn't or couldn't before.

I don't think RDA is on peds, I think he and his coaches studied Pettis and figured out a way to stop him without holding him down. Brilliant strategy.

We can speculate all we want...it's what fans do. But innocent until proven guilty is my thoughts.

Well im pretty sure Cowboy knows the truth. Hell RDA has gone thru a big body change. So who knows. Have they been out of comp testing him?
