This fight is not getting a whole lot of heat, once again due to the return of the GOAT king Jonny Jesus coming back on Saturday, but there isn't an MMA fan with a pulse who doesn't see the mountain of potential for magic that this fight possesses.

The former champion Lawler had one of the most entertaining reigns at the top in recent memory, but was floored by Tyron Woodley at UFC 201. He then did what many of us hoped he would- take extended time off. Was it enough, or have all of the miles finally caught up to him?

Donald Cerrone is one of the most-liked fighters on the roster, for good reason. He fights hard, and he lives, well... just as hard. After a great run at LW which ended with a complete thrashing at the hands of RDA, Cowboy has had a bit of a resurgence at WW. This is significant because Cowboy is missing a bit of his intestines, which likely made the cut to 155 a tough one for him. After 4 impressive wins at 170, he lost handily to Jorge Masvidal in his last fight, and is now coming off of a bout with Staph infection which pushed this fight from UFC 213 to this Saturday at UFC 214. How much will that affect him?

As I did in my Demian Maia vs Tyron Woodley thread, I will list both fighters twice. The top is who you WANT to win, and the bottom is who you THINK will win. I assume this one will be a bit harder for most of us.

We're not supposed to talk about it! We'll anger the MMA gods and the fight will be called off.

Having said that, I'd like to see Cerrone win. However the odds are against him and I expect Lawler to walk away with the W.

I dont like this fight for cowboy
I picked him to win, mostly because I know Robbie was having concussion issues after the Woodley fight and I expect a down-turn soon. I love both guys though and they're both killers so I'm just excited to see what happens.

I agreem but with lawler not sparring often i feel like he will be able to return good after a ko plus he waited a year. I would love cowboy to win but i see robbie being to tough and just walking him down

There should be an either option in the poll. I don't have a pony in the race but Im excited to see it happen.

Cerrone is one of my favorites, but at 170 Robbie is the real contender, imo. Would love to see him get the ko back from woodley. Also i dont think cerrone can handle the power of Lawler (few can) and his lack of head movement is a severe disadvantage in this fight. Lawyer's wrestling is on point so getting him down, let alone keeping him down isn't in donald"s favor. Hate to see either guy lose and although I love this matchup, I hate it.

Cerrone can easily win, question is will he choke? He doesn't choke often but title fights and hometown fights are a bit of a nemesis. Maybe a former champion could cause that. However he's flown under the radar for this fight, perhaps his influence with the egg has got him a little less press time as that seems his shortcoming
