Donald Harvey was a serial killer claiming 87 victims. He was active in Ohio and Kentucky between 1970 through 1987. He was found beaten in his cell on March 28 2017, and on March 30 he died from those injuries. Age 64.
When he was 18 he worked in the medical field and began killing patients. He claimed these people were terminally ill and he killed them out of a sense of empathy, but he enjoyed it. He used multiple methods to kill his patients - arsenic, cyanide, insulin, suffocation, morphine, turning off ventilators, adding Hepatitis B and the HIV virus to bloodstreams. Once he even inserted a coat hanger through a catheter, puncturing the abdomen causing peritonitis. He often killed patients because they annoyed them, and for 17 years his crimes went undetected.
His victims weren't limited to patients. He also killed his boyfriend with arsenic because he suspected he was cheating on him. He killed his boyfriend's father as well - arsenic. He put arsenic in his neighbor's pie causing her to die. He poisoned another neighbor by putting hepatitis serum in her drink, causing her to become very ill.
