lol they are seeing if they can manipulate the population. buy and eat 50 of them and you'll be very bored of eating lettuce, but nothing more.

It's most common in meat but most of the time it is cooked harmless. The safest vegetables are those you will cook very well before eating like potatoes and swiss chard (way too rubbery to eat raw) and the highest risk vegetables are those mostly eaten raw, unpeeled and unwashed or poorly washed like lettuce.
Ecoli warnings are for everyone but mostly it's geared toward protecting young children, elderly people and those with weakened immune systems. In healthy adults a bad case of ecoli will give you a stomach sickness but in children, elderly and compromised immune it could kill or come very close to it.
Tightly capsulated greens such as iceberg and cabbage are safest raw eating greens when you purchase them as a whole head and not prebagged as a salad mix. It is also going to be lesser exposed to pesticides and herbicides.
