UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos is still open to accepting a challenge from Conor McGregor and also has the welterweight title in his sights.

While there is certainly no love lost between Rafael dos Anjos and Conor McGregor, it seems the Irishman has spurred dos Anjos on to eventually challenge for the welterweight title.

When McGregor dethroned featherweight kingpin Jose Aldo at UFC 194, 'The Notorious' immediately announced that he would be challening RDA for the lightweight championship at UFC 196. Unfortunately, dos Anjos pulled out with a broken foot, leaving McGregor to take on late replacement Nate Diaz in his 170-pound debut.

Although the Dubliner lost to Diaz via submission in the second round, dos Anjos seemed curious to try out the welterweight division for…

Would be interested to see RDA at WW, seems like the lightweights are enjoying the speed advantage and lesser weight cut. Also RDA is a pretty strong guy with a quick to aggressive style, could do him some benefits against slow starters in the division.

Also even though Robbie would most likely take it, sounds like another FOTN for both guys.

RDA would also beat him. Conor dug himself hug too big of a hole to get out of.

I hope to see RDA vs Lawler by the end of the the year or early 2017.
It won't be competitive if it did happen...Robbie shucks off D1 champions who cut from well over 200 pounds..in my experience this is the biggest down side to naturally smaller fighters challenging up..You can't teach size and Rda will feel like a child after locking up with the likes of Rory,Jony, and If he is victorious T_Wood...RDA also hasnt felt the power of a guy who on the reg was knocking out top level 85ers...It won't go two full rounds if it happens imho..

Robbie is a legit WW and will destroy any and all legit LW's
Amen..I hate to,say it but all these fighters call Conor delusional but in the same breath he has ppl convinced they can move up and fight killers..there are reasons behind weight classes and Robbies got a Left hook, that says RDA will be in a world of shit.. if he thinks that broke jaw he tapped to from that shoulder check was painful he sustained from guida, he hasn't felt shit compared to Robs power...Ppl forget Rob KOed Manhoef virtually with no legs..Melvins power and RDA power aren't even in the same hemisphere...

its ironic RDA thinks he should get a super fight with Rob and jump the WW line, but RDA who got dominated by Khabib is throwing out stipulations on why he won't rematch Khabib cuz he needs to fight more ppl..that sounds like a hypocrite to me...Rda isnt even the top 3 best lw on the planet imho so he better leave Robbie alone or hell might not, make it bk,to LW in one piece..this isn't some bjj,guy who,rda can maybe skate to,a dc win or lose..this is a fighter who could put him in a coma..

RDA isn't a small LW though, he cuts from 190ish from what I understand.

Still not a full sized WW, but Condit isn't that big for a WW either, not weight wise.

I thought most WW's cut from the 190's anyway. That's what GSP cut from and everyone was calling him a big WW.

Every time Melvin threw a leg kick, Robbie would do a high kick. Shit was comedy. Melvin was making Robbie do the river dancer.

I thought he fight was turning into a formality, and Melvin might have made the same mistake. Melvin moved in for the kill and then it was too late. The trap had already been set.

Sometimes I heart mma.

most wrestlers rob fought kos,Lindland and Hendricks all cut good amount and just stronger..Condits Length is what makes him a stylistic nightmare for a lot of ww..Im saying that RDA isn't gonna be on the level that Rory is at ww..he needs to clean out his division before hes tying to do this...Robbie is use to fighting naturally bigger guys and i don't see ANY area that he can be exposed in by RDA...This fight will be the reference to why guus May bump up and be competitive with mid level WW but when it comes to the elite, RDA will get beat dwn..
