What a moran

COWETA COUNTY, Ga. (WANF/Gray News) - A Whataburger employee in Georgia is accused of using a customer’s card information to pay her probation fees.

Police said 25-year-old Aleefah Sumpter is wanted for felony identity theft and felony financial transaction card fraud.

According to authorities, Sumpter, while working at Whataburger, allegedly stole debit card information from a customer in the drive-thru to pay her probation fines and fees with the Coweta County State Court Probation Office.

The customer noticed a $400 charge to CCSCPO on her account and told them about the unauthorized transaction.

Both agencies worked together to identify Sumpter as the suspect.

Police said the customer also picked her out of a photo line-up as the worker who took his card payment and disappeared for a couple of minutes.

Sumpter’s probation officer obtained warrants for her arrest and notified her of them, to which she agreed to turn herself in on Friday, Feb. 21.

However, she failed to turn herself in and stopped answering calls from investigators.

Family members said that she ran to Florida, supposedly for a trip that was planned before the charges were filed against her.

If anyone has information on Sumpter’s whereabouts, contact SPD Lt. Det. James McCue at 770-599-3256, Ext. 108.

Wow, that's incredibly stupid.

Like the customer wasn't going to notice, and like there would be any doubt as to who committed the crime.

A convicted Dublin drug dealer was caught supplying cannabis and street tablets to another defendant during his own sentence hearing, a judge has heard.

Tony Roe (30), of Moatview Court, Priorswood, Dublin 17, pleaded guilty at Dublin District Court on Wednesday to possessing drugs for sale or supply on April 15th, 2024.

Judge Treasa Kelly heard Roe, with 124 prior criminal convictions, had been in the Circuit Court in Dublin’s Criminal Courts of Justice building.

He had transported the drugs in and passed alprazolam tablets worth €160 and some cannabis to another man who was in the custody of the Prison Service in the same courtroom.

The court heard that his earlier crimes included 29 drug dealing convictions and theft. Judge Kelly noted he was serving a sentence already and was not due for release until October next year.

The court heard he received a three-year sentence for attempted robbery on the date he was dealing in court.

Defence solicitor David Bassett submitted that his client pleaded guilty early.

Judge Kelly imposed a concurrent three-month sentence, sparing him from added jail time.

Ireland only has about 6100 prisoners in the entire country. South Carolina has a similar overall population, but SCDC has about 15,300 inmates. Sounds like Ireland desperately needs some diversity.

A Bangor man has been arrested for the 12th time this year.

Bangor police said Tuesday they arrested Kevin Gray, 41, on a theft charge as well as drug possession, warrants and violations of conditions of release.

Police say they were called to TJ Maxx on Broadway on Friday evening after a rideshare driver reported his passenger said he had warrants for his arrest, planning to steal from the store and showed drugs to the driver.

Police identified the passenger as Gray and said there were multiple warrants for his arrest. He was also a suspect in a case from a few days earlier.

Officers say they spotted Gray as he came out of the store. He was arrested after a brief foot chase.

Police said Gray had seven sets of pre-conviction bail conditions that banned him from going to several businesses in the area due to theft charges at those stores.

He was released from jail on bail on Saturday.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (7News) — A Prince William County police officer allegedly stalked a woman for months and used the agency's criminal information database to do so, county police officials announced Wednesday.

Godson Vondee, 42, is facing several stalking-related charges after police said he used the database to obtain information on the victim and traveled within the area of the victim's home several times over a 15-month span, according to Prince William County police officials.

"These actions are a betrayal of our oath of office and are not reflective of the values and professionalism expected of the members of this agency," said Chief Peter Newsham, Prince William County Police Department, said in a statement. "Such actions violate the trust within our community, and I expect the accused to be held accountable."

Police records indicated Vondee searched the victim five times, once in 2023 and four times in 2024, to gather details; he was also on duty during each search, officials said.

Vondee, who's been with the agency for six years, was placed on administrative leave after allegations were brought up and an investigation began in June. Officials said they've also begun an internal administrative investigation.

Vondee was charged with a count of stalking and five counts of using a computer to obtain identifying information and is being held without bond. A court date is scheduled for August 19.
