I've mentioned these guys on regular john @regular john's music thread, but they deserve their own post. Just saw them a few days ago at The Summit Theater in Denver & the blew my fucking mind. This is a clip from a great stoner rock doc call "Such Hawks Such Hounds" (I'll post the rest in a bit), which is the first time I heard them.

If you like Hendrix's Band of Gypsys, early Pink Floyd, & instrumental, psychedelic jams with a dose of Sabbath & more than a smattering of Zen satori, then you'll love Earthless.

This isn't some nutless, lazy-groove, decaf, hippie-dippie jam-band bullshit. This is a hard rock POWER TRIO. Isaiah Mitchell's blues/rock phrasing & jaw-dropping fuzz tones conjures up Jimi, David Gilmour, Rory Gallagher, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck & Cream-era Clapton. Add in Brown Bomber Mario Rubalcaba's Bill Ward meets Nick Mason power drumming & Mike Eginton's thick, meaty, understated/underrated bass grooves...no can defense.

Check 'em out, & drop everything to go see them if they come to a town near you.

I will check them out, it sounds like I would like them by your description.

I like stoner prog rock bands like: Explosions in the Sky, We Hunt Buffalo, Phish, Kyuss.

Thanks for checking them out Psychotropic Wanderlust @Psychotropic Wanderlust . They tore my head off live & blew the opening act, Graveyard, off the stage. And Graveyard were GOOD.

Don't know Explosions in the Sky or We Hunt Buffalo, but I LOVE Kyuss. Not a Phish phan, but I'll check out the other two. Or, feel free to post some suggestions here.

Explosions in the sky are not really overly heavy or even metal. and none of their songs have words all of them are instrumentals. but they blast me to another dimension. highly underrated imo. and its all live instrument too. they have like 4 guitar players haha.
Pretty cool, mellow & uplifting. Ever listen to Electric Miles Davis? Check out "In a Silent Way", if you haven't heard it. Here is a shorter remix for a taste, & it has a similar, uplifting kind of fee. It's my soundtrack to a lucid dream:

oh yeah Earthless is great that was the greatest musical find I've had lately thanks soundoff71 @soundoff71

just watched the doc "Such Hawks Such Hounds Too" great stuff. some bands like Pentagram and The Obsessed must be awesome from what I heard - I know Obsessed just by name because of Scott Reeder.e
