I think a lot of it is to do with Eddie not helping himself. He's given the moves stupid names and you have to be very flexible to do some of the techniques, so some people can't do it so they dismiss it. Eddie is legit and the system is too. No worries, if I find anymore good ones I'll post them.
To be fair, Eddie says that the flexibility to master the rubber guard can be achieved by anyone. They just have to put in the work.
Yeah to a degree that is true, there maybe some with bad hips etc that couldn't but most of the naysayers just don't want to put the work in.
More to do with how with eddies fake humble bragging and talking out of both sides of his mouth.
His event is cool but he used Metamoris to launch it.
Also, for me the fact that he believes in chem trails and he believes in the flat earth conspiracy shows an enormous lack of ability to reason or use logic in other aspects.
Also his system is Nino's system
I like Eddie but the points you raise have some validity. He can be a polarising figure

Who cares if he recognizes changes in patterns of air traffic, if he knows his stuff regarding bjj then that's what matters in this conversation. We don't dismiss a scientist's work if they happen to fans of pro wrestling.

I respect his jiu jitsu skills but it's his personality that turns me off the guy. I have a hard time separating people from their professional and personal sides.
