lol my union at my current job makes this sort of behavior unnecessary from both parties but I have worked warehouse jobs were this sort of shenanigans go on from the management and the workers.

I'm surprised such an articulate gentleman is working in a warehouse.

Back when I was framing houses, we had a remodel job downtown. I was non-union but all of the other trades there were union. They hated us being there.

I needed a 2x4 cut so I grabbed a random saw that was sitting on the ground and used it. Apparently that's a no-no in union land. Every union guy went home. It was a huge stink. I was 19 years old and shut down a million dollar project because I used someone else's saw.

My first lesson in dealing with union guys.

Would love to know what the punished workers did to get sent home.

It's a shame but we see unions overreaching so much to the point where it gets in the way of people's ability to do business.

I worked at a grocery store when I was younger and one of the senior employees got caught stealing and eating food in the back warehouse. She got fired but the union got her job back almost immediately. If you - as a business owner - can't fire an employee for stealing from you, what the fuck? smh

At our local municipality, there was a city worker who was fired because he would clock in, and then just drive to the gym, work out, go home, come back for a bit, and then just drive around - effectively doing no work all day. They figured this out because they had trackers in all the city trucks. They fired him last year... and now the union has gotten his job back, and what's more, the city has to pay him a year's back pay for all the work he missed! Unreal! Our tax dollars at work lol
