Seems to say it will be on ESPN, but who knows with dana speak. It might be ESPN+
As per usual, DW lied about how high the DVR numbers areWho knows here but he’s right about dvr has to be added
I will never watch another fucking commercial so I dvr all events.....fuck commercials
I’d be curious to know the numbers......I imagine there are a lot of people like meAs per usual, DW lied about how high the DVR numbers are
but if they are doing it, once a year makes a lot more sense
Roughly about 250k live & 400k DVRI’d be curious to know the numbers......I imagine there are a lot of people like me
That’s a pretty big differenceRoughly about 250k live & 400k DVR
ESPN+ is only domesticI'm totally confused about this fucking ESPN deal.
What is the future of Fight Pass with all this ESPN shit coming down the pipe?
Can someone explain it?
This whole thing seems stupid and like a move in the wrong direction. More and more content should get considated to Fight Pass, not the other way around.ESPN+ is only domestic
Fight pass is everywhere but the States
DW said there will be some new FP only content, but he lies a lot
I think ESPN+ might not have the complete catalogue, but there has been conflicting reports
Might seem that way from the outside, but ...This whole thing seems stupid and like a move in the wrong direction.
Oh, from a business perspective it might work out for them. I was speaking strictly from a consumer perspective.Might seem that way from the outside, but ...
They are being paid $150m a year for ESPN+
Fight Pass grossed less than 1/3 of that (worldwide)
It might have been the smartest deal UFC ever made
Same with Bellator/Rizin:
Bellator lost money in 2017
Coker overspent & tried PPV & lost millions
DAZN is giving them more money per year ($33m) then they grossed in 2017
It was certainly the smartest decision Bellator ever made
They are both content distributors
I get that but its not a volume difference from nowOh, from a business perspective it might work out for them. I was speaking strictly from a consumer perspective.
Events are already spread out between PPV, network and cable television, and Fight Pass. But now if you want to be able to watch everything the UFC has to offer you have to subscribe to YET ANOTHER fucking streaming service?
The shit is just getting laughable at this point.
You said earlier than Dana said there would still be exclusive FP events, so if that's true, we're looking at PPV, TV, FP and ESPN+ if you want it all.I get that but its not a volume difference from now
2018: PPV, FP & TV
2019: PPV, ESPN+, TV
ESPN+ is cheaper, so its less money for live content than it is now
I also said he is FoS a lotYou said earlier than Dana said there would still be exclusive FP events, so if that's true, we're looking at PPV, TV, FP and ESPN+ if you want it all.
The thing about Fight Pass is that it's still useful for a lot of things beyond just exclusive events. I largely keep Fight Pass around for the back catalog of events so I can do research for betting purposes, so for people like me, no matter how you slice it we're still having to add yet another subscription for the same level of access.I also said he is FoS a lot
There has been zero reported on that & if there is, it will be only a few
So no need to have the $10 a month sub
You can pick & choose
It still will be cheaper
If FP is that important to you for catalogue, you will have a potential issue. But its still not known exactly what goes to where as far as catalogue & when. The thing about Fight Pass is that it's still useful for a lot of things beyond just exclusive events. I largely keep Fight Pass around for the back catalog of events so I can do research for betting purposes, so for people like me, no matter how you slice it we're still having to add yet another subscription for the same level of access.
Then when you throw into the mix that Bellator is now about to start airing exclusive events on that DAZN shit, well there we go again.
Pretty soon if you want to have access to all UFC and Bellator content then you're going to have to have access to their PPVs, a cable subscription, Fight Pass, ESPN+ and DAZN.
That's five separate pipelines--each with their own unique cost--to watch events from only two organizations. Talking about getting fucking nickel-and-dimed.
That was never confirmedIIRC...If you subscribe to ESPN+ you will also get FP for $5, which combined equal the cost of what FP is without ESPN+. So if you do both it's really just about the same price as FP was/is.
The only reason I could see for putting TUF on ESPN+ would be if they think that TUF would actually be a meaningful incentive for people to subscribe to ESPN+, kind of like how Star Trek: Discovery exclusively airs on CBS's streaming service, CBS All Access.Back to TUF
Smart decision doing only one a year, but if it is on ESPN+, I don't see the reason for it since exposure will be very limited
ESPN? That makes a lot of sense.
He threw ESPN+ in there, so that's my guess.
