Friend of mine got federal charges for shooting his gun off when he was drunk. Eventually he paid a lawyer enough money to make it go away and got lucky.
had a family member that drunk last night...couldn't stand...talking about the S word
had to pick him up, house him, monitor him, and right now considering rehab for him

Yea he was laughing at me because some old charges of mine show up on the internet, even tho I got off them. He said "dude it's fucked, when an employer searches me I got felony charges and I got.off too"
Sober them up first. Alcohol is a depressant.

I think the delay due to drunkness was like 1.5 seconds
for a second after the gunshot he is pondering the spirit world
Don't make it feel like a burden tho. For the depressed sometimes the offer of help and support can make them feel worse. Have a good chat with them once they have sobered.
I saw someone the other week that I'd not seen for ten years or so and he cried his eyes out as he told me his woes, it was very bizarre and a couple of times he accused me of mocking him (I wasn't) at the end he really thanked me for listening and helping him realize he can overcome his issues for his kids sake. (Distant second cousin I randomly bumped into)

I have tough love personality(as you can see by my posts usually) so it is hard for me to temper my content.
things are looking up today, but he is off and on his prescription meds so that changes quickly
He is my brother, and I haven't seen someone that drunk other than a bum since high school...I could barely support his weight to transport him to my house to crash/sober up.

Best advice I can give is be supportive but don't enable. Don't add your disappointment on top of the other shit he's got going on. Every person is different mang, so you gonna have to figure it out but don't give up on him. Smack him about if you need to .
lol at federal charges his lawyer must have been terrible ,even in liberal ass California most lawyers will get you some low level felony gun charges or a misdemeanor I know people who got 2 years on a gun charge and served months in L.A county jail.
