I finally realized why we both sometimes feel under siege. It's because you're in Washington where the liberals and a few commies reign and the sensible right is poorly organized and I'm in a part of Pennsylvania where the fascisti are on the march and the commies are too factionalized. We should switch states!
I've never even heard of fascisti, so you might be right.
But pretty much the coast regions surrounding the planet until a mountain range are their own world.
Of course we're all in our echo-chamber feeds on YouTube/Google etc.
They recently declared a state of "Civil Emergency" & a "No weapons ban" zone in neighboring Bellevue, as "antifa/blm" marched through.
Half the businesses here are boarded up.
I wouldn't dream of going anywhere in Pennsylvania, unless it was an eastern-most amish colony with no cell phone towers, where I'd be completely subjugated to barn-raising for a decade until I've earned a "plains wife".
At this point I'm completely happy reverting back a century or three to the coming enlightened alternative.
