No one is a bigger Fedor fan than I, but as sad as it is, he's way, way past his prime. While I don't wish it, I think Frank breaks Fedor this weekend.

Mir looked pretty bad the last fight I saw him in. I would think Fedor takes him unless he's seriously on something. I will have to check out the weigh-in.

The Pride era was fun, but we have to face facts that these Pride guys were not the demigods we thought they were, as was proven when they came over to the UFC.

I think the fall off was due to the years of abuse in pride (those guys were fighting 3-4 times a year and a lot of them were rough fights), the cage is a much different animal than the ring and of course supplement issues.

Yes some primes were used up in PRide

and also the pride guys came over and tried to fight clean or cleaner and little did they know the UFC was on juice to so there was a drop at first

But Pride guys did very well in UFC and won a few belts within a year or two of joining.

The Pride guys didn't do well narrative is exaggerated IMO

Mir has wanted this fight since he was at the top of the UFC.

I still remember seeing Frank sitting with Joe Silva at Affliction Fedor Vs. Arlovski back in 2009.

I always thought this was a bad fight for Fedor mainly because of the size advantage -- I assume Mir would get in tight and clinch followed by a trip that will put Fedor on his back and Mir on top ...where Mir could work various submissions.

Prime Fedor Vs. Mir ...toss up.

Old Fedor Vs. Old Mir ...I'm going with Mir on this one.

And ...please Fedor ....go into retirement and bring Shogun with you.

Hmmm. You remember how that pathetic guy Anderson got submitted by that weak Daijo Takase guy with only 4 wins in 12th fights? or when he got spanked in the striking on the feet, and then easily submitted in Pride by an unranked guy called ryo chonan?
Then he went to the UFC where seemingly had his easiest competition ever and he easily cleared out the division and was unbeaten years or so and all of a sudden Americans considered him one of the best ever?

What about that dominant UFC champion Murillo Bustamante that dominated UFC, had the UFC belt, went to Pride, and boom, straight away lost 3 in a row and wasn't even considered good enough to enter the middle weight grand prix, he lost the reserve match to enter it too.

Or that guy Chuck Lidell that was almost unstoppaple in the UFC. Dana entered him as "his boy" in the Pride Grand Prix tournament. Except, he didn't even make the finals...?

Do you even watch MMA man?

Wow, there was no need to be an asshole. But if you want to be rude, okay, I will oblige.

The examples you chose to use were incredibly moronic. You could have brought up the fact that Shogun and Rampage both came over from Pride and became champions, but I guess that would have been too intelligent.

So instead you choose to bring up how a pre-champion Anderson Silva lost to prove your "point"? Anderson also lost to Okami around that time, I guess ROTR > UFC, too. Dope.

Murillo dominated UFC, eh? He had 4 UFC fights and went 3-1. He won the belt, sure, but in what universe does going 3-1 constitute "dominated UFC"? He tapped out Lindland, back in a time when wrestlers were largely clueless about BJJ.

And Chuck Liddell went 2-1 in Pride and lost to Rampage, who of course is a guy he lost to again in the UFC. All that really proves is Rampage had Chuck's number. And of course Chuck beat Murillo in his UFC run, who you previously lauded as a guy who proved Pride was better than UFC, so it was idiotic to even bring that up.

Don't act like a smart ass and insult people when you're just posting mindless, easily debunked nonsense.

Anderson was dominating but got bullshit DQ'ed, can't take that as a win.

lol, yeah i'm rude...

I wouldn't "moronically" bring up shogun or rampage coz overall I rekon they got spanked in the UFC.

How easily murillo won in the ufc contributed... he was dominant.

Anderson was dominating okami but got bullshit DQ'd, can't count that as a win.

Chuck losing to Rampage you shouldn't think of in terms of ufc, but how spanked Rampage got in Pride. Rampage had some severe beatdowns by both of the chute box boys, wasn't even close to being on the same level as them, and neither came close to making GP finals. Cguck losing to him proves he too wasn't close to the prime fighters of the time.

Jeez, do you even follow MMA?
