Don’t Count Him Out
Taking this fight on just over two weeks’ notice, Michael Bisping stepped up to save the main event of this card, extending his own record for the most fights in company history with his 29th UFC appearance.

Coming into this card, Bisping had more fights inside the Octagon (28) than the ENTIRE prelim card of 16 fighters (22).

Time and Tide Wait for No Man
Losing by first round knockout to Kelvin Gastelum, Michael Bisping suffered his second consecutive loss, marking the FIRST time in Bisping’s career where he has dropped back-to-back fights.

After each of his previous seven losses, Bisping rebounded with a win.

Big Bucks for Beating Bisping
EVERY time Michael Bisping has been stopped inside the Octagon, his opponent has earned a post-fight bonus for it, after Kelvin Gastelum was awarded a “Performance of the Night” bonus for knocking out Bisping.

Snakes on a (Hype) Train
Picking up the SIXTH latest finish in UFC featherweight history, Zabit Magomedsharipov’s third round anaconda choke over Sheymon Moraes at 4 minutes and 30 seconds was just the 14th anaconda choke in UFC history.

Scoring his second “Performance of the Night” bonus in his second fight inside the Octagon, Magomedsharipov extends his win streak to TEN with eight straight finishes. He now celebrates an equal number of knockout and submission wins with six each.

Sing Us a Song
When Song Kenan knocked out Bobby Nash in 15 seconds, not only did he score the FIFTH fastest finish in welterweight history, but he also picked up the SIXTH fastest debut victory in modern UFC history.

Something’s Gotta Give
Surviving to the final bell, Kailin Curran ended up dropping her third straight decision and fourth straight fight overall. Curran now holds the dubious record of being the first fighter in women’s strawweight history to hold a four-fight losing streak, as well as having the most losses in divisional history with six. No other fighter in that division’s short history has suffered more than four losses.

Competitive Advantage
Missing weight by two pounds, Rolando Dy came in heavy at 148 pounds for his featherweight fight against Wuliji Buren but emerged victorious with a decision. The last FIVE fighters to miss weight have ALL won their fights, with seven of the last ten heavy fighters victorious.

Never Say Never Again
Coming into this event, the UFC had never held an event on mainland China (418 events), Michael Bisping had never fought professionally twice in the same month (38 fights), no fighter born in India had ever competed inside the Octagon, and Michael Bisping had never been finished in the first round (38 fights).

King of Ranchera
Walkout out to Mexican icon Vicente Fernandez for the seventh recorded time in his UFC career, Kelvin Gastelum prevailed accompanied by “El Palenque.” When using Vicente Fernandez songs, choosing from either “El Palenque” or “Los Mandados,” Gastelum holds an impressive record of 6-1.

He Got His Head Checked
For the 24th recorded time in Michael Bisping’s career, he made his walk to the cage with “Song 2” by Blur.

The use of the track puts him at SECOND for the most utilized walkout song by a single fighter, trailing Donald Cerrone (who always uses “Cowboy” by Kid Rock) and tied with Joe Lauzon (his choice is “Move” by Thousand Foot Krutch).

Top Notch Nuge
Walking out to the most successful recorded walkout song in UFC history with at least 20 uses, Gina Mazany chose wisely with Ted Nugent’s “Stranglehold” and picked up a decision victory over Wu Yanan, bringing the winning percentage of the track to a sky-high 76% (19-6).

To those of you that actually made it to watch the card live, well done. I was about a half hour short of getting to the first prelim, and it started getting tough to keep my eyes open. Closed my eyes to rest them for just a second, and five hours passed. Solid card though, plenty of action and some great showings by some monster prospects. How bout Magomedsharipov, huh? Zabit vs Yair Rodriguez? I'd buy that for a dollar.
