I've seen articles from Fox Sports and DAZN going after the UFC for fighter pay - not their own major rival. This is an incredibly retarded oversight.
The UFC as it stands right now exists almost exclusively to provide content for ESPN. ESPN is responsible for structuring the content deal to incentivize the UFC to screw the fighters over as much as possible.
ESPN and their advertisers are the ones broadcasting slave fights to push subscriptions and move shitty products, the UFC just provides the slaves. It's like doing an expose on sweatshops, but instead of going after Nike, you just question the ethical standards of Nguyen Van Phuoc and Son's Discount Apparel.
Shaming the UFC can't achieve shit. Shaming ESPN and giving advertisers cold feet can. It's ridiculous that ESPN's media rivals won't use the 'human slave cockfighting' angle to score some points.
