So the time has come for us Americans to choose a new president. First GOP debate is tonight in Cleveland. Anyone else watching? Should be a good one with Donald Trump joining the fray and leading the polls. I'm personally hoping for a Rand Paul vs Bernie Sanders general election, but the chances of Paul getting the GOP nod are fairly slim. Which candidate has piqued your interest, TMMAC?

I'm amazed that Trump has become such a strong front-runner. Just goes to show how disenfranchised most are with the political process. I guess people think he'll make a good president since he runs a successful business. Seems to me that it would make him more susceptible to being bought off. He says he doesn't need money because he has his own, but will he really be willing to turn down millions from the lobbyists that will ultimately come his way?

And I honestly don't think Trump will stay in the race for long. His legal counsel/spokesman recently did an interview on CNN and slipped up by saying something to the effect of "If Trump decides to see this election through..." Trump is just looking for publicity like last time. My guess is he'll do a few debates then bow out.

I think you're right. I suspect that this is just sport for him, ya know? Like perhaps he knows he can't win but wants to play the game just to be involved. Imagine the election: Trump v. Hillary. Regardless of political proclivities, I'd imagine that would be a heavily one-sided election

I find the whole Trump thing hypocritical and off-putting. Although I don't fall on the 'conservative values' side of the coin I can respect people who do, it's their belief. Trump isn't what is considered conservative, in fact, when asked who he thought would be a good running mate he said Oprah Winfrey. He's praised Hillary half a dozen times, he supports abortion, he believes in a system similar to Obamacare. All of these things are used by conservatives as talking points when applied to any other situation, not Trump's though. The only thing I can see from this is that the guy said some faux-racial shit, won't apologize for it and people love it. They don't give a shit about 'conservative values', because if they did they would be laughing this guy off the stage.

lol @ Fox News trying to make news instead of report it. They already say the likely Democratic nominee will be Hillary. Give me a break. Hillary is going to get absolutely shamed by Bernie Sanders.

I hate to admit it, but Jeb nailed it with this opening comments. He certainly wasn't cut from the same cloth as ol' Georgie.

The majority of them, yes. But you can't be fully dismissive towards our political system. That's the exact sentiment that allows special interests to dictate our government. The more the lil guy gets involved, the harder it is for the big guy to influence with money.

The little guy hasn't stood a chance in decades. The system is too corrupt and too far gone. We need to relieve everyone in Congress of their duties, implement 4 yr term limits across the board, and basically start over. Too much old money in politics, too many people accustomed to lining their pockets while pushing hard working Americans further in debt. I gave up a long time ago.

Lol oh Trump. He is correct though. Most of the casinos in Atlantic City are going bankrupt.
