FUK YES! That dude is awesome. I loved that movie about the Spanish civil war and the girl and the monsters. Fuking great movie. Something else of his was awesome, too, forgot which.

I watched it. I don't remember a ton about it, but I do remember really liking it.
I also say that Pacific Rim (which he made) is the Godzilla movie we shoulda gotten.
