Any of the brands are ok IF

(1) they provide at least 500 mg of DHA. 500 mg of EPA....check the labels those will be on their - you may have to take more than one capsule. Go for one that says 1000mg or more of "fish oil"

(2) look for the symbol for USP verified in the bottleimage.jpgimage.jpg image.jpgimage.jpg

Fish Oil increased my Cholesterol. I didn't noticed any other health benefits or effects and I've tried several brands with blood tests.

Don't take that nature made filler crap.

I'm sorry my friend, but it's time to let Hippocrates be your guide.

"Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food."

After decades of nutritional supplements, I am convinced they do next to nothing, most be fillers. I cannot trust most regulatory bodies.
High cholesterol runs in some families.
My cholesterol has routinely been 280 with triglycerides @ 800.

After forever on 20 different brands of fish oil, I switched to thick cut organic irish oats and wild caught Alaskan salmon. I let my self run passed the initial hunger pains, bigger breakfast than lunch or dinner, drank lots of flouride-free filtered water, juice veggies, etc.
I don't touch prescription meds.
My cholesterol was cut 75% in 2 months.

What is the diet he has you on. Many low cholesterol diets can make your numbers worse, hence the recent change by the FDA acknowledging that dietary cholesterol is healthy.

I wrote an article a bit ago about some foods that help cholesterol numbers. Bottom line was, coconut oil, alcohol and one of the b's (folate?) all had markedly positive effects on cholesterol.

Remember, you want lots oh HDL's, and the cholesterol contained therein is fine too. These are markers of good health and associated with a strong heart. Cholesterol itself is a metabolic precursor to testosterone, also good for you (hence the "sterol" at the end). Ever since I've paid attention to HDL boosting foods my gym gains have come way easier.

this is actually interesting, i started eating a hard-boiled egg for breakfast and actually did notice a difference in my build, which I thought was my imagination.

I have high cholesterol, I'd love to read the article. Link?

Oh and not in the article but related to our discussion:

Ldl levels seem to drop and testosterone levels seem to rise when HDL is in good standing, however this might not always be the case. Please just be aware that the article only discusses one aspect of the issue.
