It took forever for the promoters to finally release tickets to the big Mayweather vs. Pacquiao matchup, and they didn't last long once they went on sale.
The MGM Grand seats 16,000 people for certain events. The May 2nd mega-fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather would seem like one of those events. But because the promoters were still battling over details (ie. money), tickets for the events didn't even go on sale until yesterday.
BBC reported the details on what exactly was put out:
The MGM Grand in Las Vegas has a capacity of 16,500 but only about 1,000 seats can be bought by the public.
The rest will go to the fighters, the casino, sponsors and promoters.
The cheapest ticket for the 2 May bout will cost £1,000 ($1,500), rising to around £5,000 ($7,500).
The MGM also announced the sale of thousands of closed circuit seats at its various properties at £100 ($150) apiece.
