There was almost too much good fighting on this weekend. If, in between the chaos of UFC 201, WSOF 32, and the Paulie Malignaggi fight, you somehow managed to catch Leo Santa Cruz attempting to defend his WBA featherweight championship against fellow undefeated fighter Carl Frampton, then holy shit were you in for a treat! In the boxing world, this ended up being an obvious FOTY candidate, and it was really a treat for us fight fans.

If you were among the people who caught it and are still thinking about it -- or, if perhaps you missed it and want to be caught up on it, I did a breakdown/review of this weekend's boxing where I talk about the war between Santa Cruz/Frampton as well as the return of Mikey Garcia against Elio Rojas.

As per usual, this isn't as high-quality as my written breakdowns because of the lack of equipment and experience, but as I continue to experiment with this platform I am working to expand both my skills and the resources that I can devote to this medium of analysis.

I'm also working on a write-up breaking down the Lawler/Woodley KO, and will probably start looking at a Namajunas/Kowalkiewicz. Let me know if there is anything in particular you all would like to see.

Anyways, HOLY SHIT at this Santa Cruz/Frampton fight. Hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did!

I'm a fan of Carl so I wasn't missing this fight.

Skipped the entire main card of UFC 201 besides the main event too watch, was on the edge of my seat in the later rounds.

Such a close, brilliant and exciting fight.

Agreed. Seems like an awesome guy, and I am a big fan of his style. I had both cards on and DVR'd both too, as that was the best compromise I could come to. That was such an amazing fight, man. What a battle of wills and skill!

ah man, I was genuinely intrigued to see how a 70s music superstar was able to get the upper hand on a laid-back coastal CA town
