Nice, they're following the book's ending with the ship stuck on the ice while chasing the monster. The Universal movie with the windmill always looked amazing, but I kind of always preferred the imagery from the book.

Looking forward to this. Given Del Toro’s imagination I want to see his idea of the creature. As with various adaptations of Dracula, a few Frankenstein films have gotten close to Shelley’s writing, Branagh’s mid-‘90s effort coming the closest. Hoping that this one will follow the original idea and have the titular character actually create his monster rather than simply assemble dead body parts. In the book the entire reason the creature is huge is Frankenstein’s inability to duplicate the finer workings of a normal size human.

I could see a Babylon Bee AI spoof of the movie where it's a DNC branded ship and Fetterman is powerslamming Pelosi and rape-choking AOC while various they/thems wave torches at him and poke him with pride flags.

Frankenstein is such a great story. Was at a thing last month and an author was selling his original play called The People vs Frankenstein. Is meant to pick up after the original by Shelley. Haven't read it yet.
