This reminds me of the outrage at a black James Bond. No one cared about changes to his hair colour, eye colour, accent or even the years he was supposedly active. But change his skin colour and everyone loses their minds (Joker gif).

I can't speak for America but over here in the UK there were actually many who really didn't like the fact Daniel Craig had blonde hair. In fact there was alot of fuss over a 'blonde' James Bond as it didn't fit the character in the novels.

For the record though I have nothing against creating a new spiderman for a new generation. I do agree with others though who feel Peter Parker should remain his traditional self. However I think the concept of a completely new person becoming Spiderman is interesting. Just have this person in a seperate universe to the original Peter parker and that should keep everyone happy (hopefully!)
