Has anybody here incorporated the funk roll into their grappling, especially in the Gi? Our wrestling coach likes the funk roll, and I have been trying get it to work for me, wth limited success so far- just needs more drilling and time.

Anyways- check out this great video about the funk roll:

The biggest concern I see with it regarding BJJ, is that against good leg lock guys, you're getting tapped by a toe hold (and they can transition to kneebars). This will especially be the case in No Gi grappling.

In Gi, or competing with IBJJF rules, you wouldn't have to worry about those leg attacks in lower belt divisions.... However most higher belts would more likely pull guard and not shoot, which would take away your opportunity to execute this technique.
