Gabi Garcia to appeal no-contest, blasts ‘coward’ Oksana Gagloeva (MMA Fighting):
'On her way back to the hotel in Japan, Garcia told MMA Fighting she will appeal the result, claiming that she didn’t poke Gagloeva in the eye, therefore the fight should be ruled a TKO victory for her.

"It was not (the tip of) my finger,” Garcia said. "I defended with an open hand, but closed it for the punch. She has both eyes hurt. The doctors authorized her to come back but she didn’t want to. Coward."'

I've had multiple retina detachments and after seein those pictures I am not upset at all that she chose not to continue.

That is messed up!! There are some big issues in MMA, some getting worked out quicker than others, and eye pokes are one of them. Not getting addressed enough imo.

It's not as dangerous as cutting 30 pounds by dehydration but it can still have huge consequences for fighters.

Why the old pride gloves with the curve aren't mandatory will never make sense to me
Wouldn't eliminate eyepokes, but it would greatly reduce the amount

Didn't effect grappling at all either. Which i believe is the main argument against it. Lots of really amazing subs in Pride over the years.

it was the only eye poke on the entire card and the rizin gloves are just like the pride gloves that force the fingers to be in a slight curved position. gabi was straight up holding her fingers out jon jones style. the chick is 5x bigger than her opponents and sauced to the gills and still wins by eye poke .no budo
